If you don't want to give someone total access to your account, you can give them permission to access one or more folders in your @northwestern.edu mailbox.
I am logging into a Windows Server 2016 server and then accessing several volumes. While browsing directories in terminal, all file permissions appear as being owned by the PAM user I am logged into on the Mac workstation and the group is always staff. The permissions are always displayed as set to 700 (rwx - -) for all files.
Directory Permission 2016 For Mac Free
- Click the folder you wish to change permissions for.
- On the Organize Tab, click Folder Permissions.
- Click the name of the person you wish to change permissions for, or click Add User.. to give permission to someone new.
- In the Permission Level dropdown menu, choose your desired access level. Click OK when you're done.
Owner | Gives full control of the folder; can create/modify/delete/read folder items; create subfolders; and change permissions on the folder. |
Publishing Editor | Has all rights granted to an Owner, except the right to change permissions; can create/modify/delete/read folder items and create subfolders. |
Editor | Has all rights granted to a Publishing Editor, except the right to create subfolders; can create/modify/delete/read folder items. |
Publishing Author | Can create and read folder items and create subfolders but can modify and delete only folder items they create, not items created by others. |
Author | Has all rights granted to a Publishing Author but cannot create subfolders; can create and read folder items and modify and delete items they create. |
Nonediting Author | Can create and read folder items but cannot modify or delete any items, including those they create. |
Reviewer | Can read folder items, but nothing else. |
Contributor | A Contributor can create only folder items and cannot read items. |

Symptoms
When you import an Outlook 2011 identity into Outlook 2016 for Mac, you may receive the following error message:

Your identity cannot be imported as you do not have sufficient permissions on your 2011 identity.
Resolution

Symptoms
When you import an Outlook 2011 identity into Outlook 2016 for Mac, you may receive the following error message:

Your identity cannot be imported as you do not have sufficient permissions on your 2011 identity.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
Open Terminal using one of the following methods:
- With Finder as the selected application, on the Go menu select Utilities. Double-click Terminal.
- In Spotlight Search, type Terminal and then double-click Terminal from the search results.

Type chmod -R 755 <Identity_Name>, and then press Enter. Steps 2 and 3 are represented in this screenshot:
Note
If you do not know your Identity name, you can type LS in Terminal and then press Enter for a list of the Identity names.
This should set the correct permissions for your identity. You should now be able to launch Outlook and import your 2011 identity by selecting Import on the File menu.
